Recognizing the importance of education, the Punjab government established an associate college for women to address the higher education needs of female students in the area of Rungpur, Muzaffargarh.
The Government of Punjab upgraded this college to degree level on October 4, 2017. The College is now also affiliated with Baha-ud-Din Zakariya University, Multan. The college has well-furnished class rooms, well equipped Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Laboratories. The college library has a good number of quality books and a spacious reading room. There are two vast play grounds for different games and an annual sports function.
Tutorials, debates, speech competitions, sports, study tours, and seminars are some important co-curricular activities in the college. Grounds have been leveled by a laser-leveling machine. A good number of plants have been added to the college during the recent tree plantation campaign of the Punjab Government, and it has made the atmosphere beautiful and favorable for study. We strive to create an atmosphere conducive to learning where the students will be intellectually enlightened, morally upright, emotionally balanced, socially committed, patriotic, and sensitive to the demands and needs of the country in their journey towards information, knowledge, and wisdom.
RANGPUR HISTORY
Rangpur is a historic town in the Muzaffargarh district of southern Punjab. Khera is the most prominent ethnic group in this area and is also known as Rangpur Kherianwala. It is 65 km from Muzaffargarh on the west bank of the river Chenab. Located on Jhang Road in the North. It is an ancient and famous historical place. Between the river Chenab in the east and the vast desert in the west is a narrow strip of less fertile plains. The people of this region understand the importance of education despite their low income and are therefore very passionate about teaching their children.
MISSION
The mission of Government Associate College for Women, Rangpur, is to provide high-quality education and create an educational atmosphere where students can enlighten their minds, embody strong morals, maintain emotional balance, support each other in society, demonstrate patriotism, and be aware of the educational and intellectual needs of their country.
LEADERSHIP
The college has seen dedicated leadership over the years. Initially, Prof. Muhammad Shahid Iqbal, the Principal of Government Associate College for Boys, Rangpur, was appointed as the Project Director of the College. On August 15, 2017, he was given the additional charge of Principal to oversee the admission of female students and the conduct of classes. Subsequently, Prof. Hameed Bibi assumed the role of Principal on July 5, 2017, and has been actively contributing to the improvement of the college. The leadership aims to develop the institution and provide a high standard of education.
COLLEGE INFORMATION
The college boasts a modern, spacious, and well-equipped building, providing essential facilities for education. It is affiliated with Bahauddin Zakariya University, Multan, offering programs in both Science and Arts. The college features spacious and clean classrooms, modern laboratories for Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and Computer Science, as well as a library with an extensive collection of excellent books. The lush green campus, adorned with blooming flowers, adds to the beauty of the college.

To address staffing challenges in this remote area, the college management can temporarily hire CTIs based on merit to meet teaching requirements, thereby ensuring that students receive a high standard of education.
